The New Job

Since I have had my new job, my time has been filled with learning new crazy things to complete my projects:

  • I have created an extensive database (preventing erroneous entries and logging all information) for gages. Gages will now be entered and updated upon calibration/removal/repair. Alerts will be sent when calibrations are due and locations are logged in the event the gage is moved.

  • In an effort to stave off the Canada geese in the area, I grabbed a dremel to cut out a decoy coyote to scare them off. It seems to be working.

  • I’ve created a template to log inspections of incoming parts. The template exercises VBA in Excel to prevent alteration of the template, saves the input data, and prints the most relevant sections.

  • I am in command of the 3d printer purchased for our department and used to solve sorting issues or fix necessary equipment.

  • Catia is the other half of the 3d element that i have taken towards. I either help other departments determine information of 3d models of parts we provide or create new models for any needs that may arise.

Needless to say, I’ve been busy. I am keeping up with all of the new projects thrown my way, but they are all time consuming.
